Yuma Catholic leads state golf tourney
LAVEEN - Yuma Catholic leads the 2A state boys golf tournament after the first day, while Antelope sits in sixth place.
The Shamrocks lead the field with a 312, followed by Phoenix Christian (314), Scottsdale (319) Christian, and Phoenix Country Day (321). Valley Lutheran's 330 edged Antelope by a point for fifth place.
Yuma Catholic's R.J. Wood leads the tournament with a 67, Seth Hodges shot a 73 for third place, Carl Peterson 84, Nick Pancrazi 88 and Joe Allegranza 98.
Tyler Claar and Henry Canan shot an 81 for Antelope, good enough for 20th and 21st place. Fred Blohm has an 84 and Mieke Canan has an 85 with Cody Rivera finishing at 89.
