Crims place at state in early events

PHOENIX - Some events from the first day of the 5A State track tournament that have trickled in include Yuma High's Steven Rojano placing seventh in the high jump with a six foot effort. Quincy Young took eighth in the the triple jump at 40'10." Bridget Soares qualified for the finals of the 300 m hurdles with a 47.2 seconds.
In a display of personal triumph, Cesar Villegas knocked 29 seconds of his 3200 meter time, running a 10:17 to finish tenth and two places out of the finals.
"What a huge accomplishment" Yuma coach Kurt Weber said.
