No. 5 YC hosting No. 12 San Manuel in state playoffs

While his players study history this weekend, Yuma Catholic coach Rhett Stallworth will be studying film. The Shamrocks were seeded No. 5 in the 2A state playoff bracket, released Saturday, and will host No. 12 Tucson-San Manuel in the first round Friday at Ricky Gwynn Stadium.

"I don't know anything about them at this point," Stallworth said. "I've got a coach driving to Tucson right now to pick up film which we'll watch (Sunday and Monday). Obviously they've got to be pretty good to make it to the playoffs."

The last time Yuma Catholic faced San Manuel was Nov. 2, 2007 in the first round of that season's playoffs. The Shamrocks won at home 49-7.
