Ryan Renkey earns All-American honors

Cibola junior Ryan Renkey is a two-time high school wrestling All-American.

He placed eighth at 105 pounds at the National High School Coaches Association Junior Nationals over the weekend in Virginia Beach, Va. Wrestlers that finish in the top eight are considered All-Americans.

Fellow Raider Gabriel Miranda went 4-2 at the tournament at 130 pounds, two wins shy of the top eight.

Renkey, Miranda and Cibola senior Alex Meraz are competing in USA Wrestling Nationals in Iowa later this month.
