Errors doom YC

PHOENIX - With 13 hits and one error, Yuma Catholic won the first game at Phoenix Christian 7-4. The Shamrocks recorded 13 hits but added seven errors and lost 7-6.
Phoenix Christian scored three runs with two outs in the bottom of the seventh on two Yuma Catholic (16-6, 6-3 2A West) errors and a passed ball.
"The girls swung the bats very well, I was very pleased with that 13 hits in that one game," coach Rachelle Tuffley said.
In the first game, Yolanda Esparza was 2-for-2 and Zanae Facio went 3-for-4, scoring three runs. Malorie Zamora added three RBIs with two doubles and 2-for-4.
