Comments 0 | Recommend 0Yuma Catholic finished third on its home turf on a shortened and soggy course following Wednesday afternoon's rainfall.
Southwest's Phillip Magos had the top time on the 2.4-mile course in 14 minutes, 16 seconds as the Eagles took first in the team competition as well. Calexico was second and the Shamrocks were third. Holtville also competed at the race but did not have enough runners to field a team.
YC's top finisher was Alyosha Sandigo in seventh place (15:06). Joe Schaaf placed 13th with a time of 16:12.
"I know my boys don't have the experience we need, but hopefully we'll build on this enough to field a team for Regionals," YC coach Ralph Farr said.
