Cibola boys, girls take 2nd at home three-way
The Cibola boys and girls track teams took second place at their home three-way with Yuma Catholic and San Luis Wednesday.
Cibola coach Gordon Mosher said the meet had a relaxed atmosphere where the athletes got to pick two of their three events to compete in.
The Yuma Catholic boys and girls took first and the San Luis teams took third.
Cibola girls took down multiple events. Nicolette Monroe won the 100 and 200-meter dash with times of 12.97 seconds and 26.71 seconds respectively, and the high jump with a leap of 4 feet, 4 inches. Dezarae Rodriguez won the long jump (13 feet, three inches) and pole vault (seven feet, six inches) and Amanda Martinez won the 3,200-meter run with a time of 13 minutes, 41 seconds.
As for the boys, Tyler Dombrowski won the shot put (43 feet, one inch) and Frank Sasseta won the discus (111 feet, six inches) for the Raiders.
Cibola's next meet is at Gila Ridge Wednesday.
