Kofa's Salgado third at state golf
Comments 0 | Recommend 0Kofa's Martin Salgado carded a two-day total of 143 after rounds of 73 and 70 to finish in third place at the 5A Division II State Golf Tournament Thursday at Maryvale Golf Course in Phoenix.
Salgado finished six strokes behind champion Cody Anderson from Surprise-Willow Canyon. Tucson-Ironwood Ridge's Ben Esparza took second with a 139.
Kofa placed 11th as a team, while Ironwood Ridge won the state team title.
Kofa's Buddy Sierra fired a 153. Gila Ridge's Kolbi Underhill carded a 150 to finish in a tie for 12th.
Yuma's Austin Taylor shot a 170. Cibola's Vincent Wolfe carded a 178.
