Hawks hang tough with Dobson

The Gila Ridge volleyball team battled Mesa-Dobson on Thursday, but fell in four 25-18, 25-22, 23-25 and 25-13.

Myranda Redden paced the Hawks with six kills, and Davonni Bertussi came off the bench for 18 digs. Megan Hancock had four kills.

"When you lose the first two games it's easy to just throw in the towel, but they battled" Gila Ridge coach Jack Sohnleitner said. "They played hard, cheered each other on. This could be the turning point in our season."
