Antelope tops Tonopah
Comments 0 | Recommend 0Antelope seniors Erick Hernandez and Aaron Skousen put on a two-man show Friday as they led the Rams to a 29-13 victory over Tonopah Valley.
Hernandez rushed for 176 yards on 26 carries and scored three touchdowns along with throwing a 69-pass to Chad Jameson. Skousen took care of things on the defensive side of the ball, where he tallied 14 tackles. Skousen, still dealing with an injury from a previous game, only played defensively for the Rams (5-3 overall, 4-1 2A West).
"We are fortunate to be in the position we are due to all the injuries we have suffered this year," Antelope coach John Blabe said. "Talk about a true two-man show - one ran, the other tackled."
Antelope quarterback Cody Rivera rushed for the Rams' other score as he ran for 56 yards on 18 carries.
Rams safety Shawn Mercer picked off two Tonopah passes to aid the Antelope defense.
